Legal English
EFL Legal English Program

EFL have Instructors registered with us who have first hand legal experience and who received training in the legal profession. Law is a booming global business, particularly corporate law. Courses in English can run through the medium of the Legal System, involving trips to the English speaking law courts when in session. EFL locates legal specific course materials which can help the client cover the key areas for gaining competence in speaking English in this area of speciality.

The Program

The practice of Law has increasingly become an international career. The rapid growth of international commerce, trade and litigations requires that lawyers from every culture become proficient in the international business language, English. EFL believes that many students of law would benefit from an intensive Legal English program in which advanced language skills are emphasized and practiced in a legal context.

The EFL Legal Program are taught by EFL Instructors who have a knowledge and experience in law thus allowing students to experience an American or Canadian law school atmosphere and providing opportunities for interaction with professionals.

NOTE: Please understand that this is a specialized English language program. Some courses will be conducted by teachers of English as a Second Language. The focus of the courses are in language acquisition and legal communication, not legal knowledge per se.

English Requirement:
Your placement in the Legal English program is conditional on your having already achieved 450+ on the TOEFL or having studied English at an advanced level in your country. If your knowledge of English is limited, we recommend that you enroll in the regular EFL General English Program first.
